LOL

I've found anything with an ice move to be quite an effective counter, but that's just me. Ice shard ftfw.

I think that brick break's supposed to be a blissey counter of something.

Counters need to be able to switch into him and pose an immidiate threat. Garchomp can 1-2HKO everything.

Earthquake is just as powerful as Brick Break against Blissey though...

I see your point, switching into a Garchomp would be problematic =\

I usually carry a few "damage control" pokes on my team for situations like that though, usually equipped with an ice move.

Donphan

Survives practically all of Garchomps attacks, bar crits, and can fire off a ice shard at him

But Garchomp 2HKO's Donphan and even an Adamant 252 ATK Choice Banded Donphan falls just short of any chance of OHKOing a 4 / 0 / 0 Garchomp.

Sorry I've been spending too much time on Smogon again!

Skarm is the best counter to Chomp, even if it does have Firefang its like a 3HKO. Gliscor can also resist it if its in a straight up one on one with Ice Fang , even if its not and is banded or scarfed using EQ/Stone edge/Crunch then Gliscor can be switched in to counter.

And yeah Sarge that was just outrageous <_<

Maybe using the Slack-Curse Hippowdon could work. But then again it's best to stockpile on defences just in case its ice fang misses from Sand Veil. This is a possibility, but its movepool is very limited.

What happens to those 'counters':

Donphan takes 53% absolute minimum from CB Adamant Outrage. (2HKO)
Donphan can do 94% absolute maximum to a standard Chomp with Ice Shard.

Skarmory gets 2HKOed by Chomp's Fire Blast.
Skarmory can do nothing back.

Gliscor takes 56% absolute minimum from CB Adamant Outrage. (2HKO)
Garchomp outspeeds and finishes it before it can attack.

Hippowdon has a small chance of avoiding a 2HKO from Outrage.
Hippowdon can't OHKO back with Ice Fang.

Garchomp has no true counter. He's ugly anyway. My Hitmonlee is way cooler. (;
